The rampage of drones targeted multiple regions and followed Donald Trump's recent doubt over Vladimir Putin's willingness to end the war.
In the latest wave of bloodshed, Russia fired 149 exploding drones and decoys, the Ukrainian Air Force said, adding that 57 were intercepted and another 67 jammed.
Regional officials said it was the third consecutive night the city was hit by strikes.
The attacks came just hours after Russia claimed to have regained control over the remaining parts of the Kursk region.
However Ukraine, which seized the land in a surprise incursion last August, said the fighting is still ongoing.
Three people were killed and four injured in the air strikes on Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region.
In the city of Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region, one person died and a 14-year-old girl was injured.

Meanwhile, one person was injured in drone attacks on the Odesa region and another in the city of Zhitomir.
Four people were also injured in a Russian air strike on the city of Kherson on Sunday morning, according to local officials.

Five people were injured when Ukrainian forces shelled the city of Horlivka in the partially-occupied Donetsk region, the city's Russian-installed mayor Ivan Prikhodko said.
Asked on NBC's Meet The Press about possible concessions to Russia, Mr Rubio emphasised the need to be 'grownups and realistic'.
He said: 'There is no military solution to this war. The only solution to this war is a negotiated settlement where both sides are going to have to give up something they claim to want and are going to have to give the other side something they wish they didn't.'
